OILS

I am NOT an arometharapist - I do not claim to be such - I am a specialist in oils.

A great many claims are made by the un-versed and the uninitiated as well as, sadly, trained individuals who have a quite correct concern about the origin of many oils. It is sadly very true that many of the more rare oils are produced illegally at worst or unethically by many organisations who obtain their material illegally from endangered species.

There are many organisations in the world, however, who ONLY trade ethically and do their utmost to ensure the ethical purchase of their products as well as supporting co-operative organisations to ensure the ethical production of the oils they sell. Luminescents is proud to count itself as such a company.

I really do know my suppliers - I have met them, have frequent dialogue with them and some of us are actually growers too. By all means exercise caution when purchasing your oils but don't believe much of the nonsense that proliferates the internet, written by people who merely enjoy or are too lazy to research the medium about which they tout their ignorance. There are many informative sites and organisations that you can trust and I urge you to do your own research as well as question everything you have an interest in. You will only be the better informed for having done so.

All products have been tested and many that are found not to meet my stringent criteria are rejected so that you can be confident that any product you purchase from me uses the highest quality ingredients made from 100% pure essential oils, absolutes and fragrance oils.

I specialise in the very largest range of Essential Oils, Absolute oils, Fragrance Oils, & Carrier Oils. I believe I have the largest selection avalable for you to purchase than any other trading company I have come across.

Nothing I sell or make myself has been tested on animals and I use only natural ingredients and preservatives where appropriate.

HERBS & SPICES

Many are certified organic but those of you who know me, also know that I have very strong (some would say self opinionated) views on the meaning of organic. I am all for knowing that a crop has not been deliberately sprayed with pesticide or the ground in which it is grown has not been intensively farmed with indiscriminate use of fertilisers - many of the items are harvested wild in any case but I cannot, for the life of me, agree that the wind can't possibly have blown some unwanted chemical over the crop or that some form of chemical contamination hasn't, at some point, taken place. I can only say that none of my stock has been irradiated or tampered with in any way and, where appropriate, has been independently tested for Sudan and Para Red contamination.

TEA

Tea is a personal passion of mine and every variation or blend I offer is one that I have tried and found to be special enough for me to recommend. I import my teas from merchants in their country of origin but in some instances will take in stock from reputable UK based tea merchants from whom I have bought for many years.

WHOLESALE

I am not a wholesaler but should you wish to purchase larger quantities of any items then please feel free to contact me and I will endeavour to quote a good price for you but the minimum order value must be £100.

SAMPLES

All samples must be paid for - I get stung at least 6 times a day by people requesting free samples. If you ask and pay for a sample and an order results I may deduct the cost of the sample from your order.

CATALOGUE

I do not publish a printed catalogue - the cost is prohibitive and I provide far more detailed information on all my products on my website than similar sites with a smaller range. My website IS my catalogue. Please don't ask me to mail you a copy of something I will probably never have printed.
