Managing Director Franzesca Watson is one of the worlds leading authorities in aromatherapy.
Franzesca
gained much of her knowledge about natural remedies from her mother who
lived on the remote Greek island of Andros, where only natural remedies
were available.
The neighbouring island of Kos was were the famous
physician Hippocrates (460-377BC) lived and practised medicine, his
famous quote:
“There is a remedy for every illness to be found in nature” still lives on today.
In
1974 Franzesca Watson opened the very first Aromatherapy Centre in the
UK providing aromatherapy treatments and operating an aromatherapy
advice line.
Franzesca then started a manufacturing business and launched a range of
pure essential oils and natural aromatherapy products under the brand
name Natural by Nature Oils.
In
1991 Franzesca founded and was principal of The International School of
Aromatherapy based in London, which offered the only full time
certified aromatherapy course in the world. The school also ran short
courses on the uses and safety of essential oils for the general public
and for staff of the retail health food shops, where her oils were
readily available. Franzesca was also involved in the setting up of the
first umbrella body for aromatherapy - The Aromatherapy Organisations
Council – AOC.
Franzesca has written several widely acclaimed books and contributes regularly to magazine articles.
In 2006 Franzesca was awarded a fellowship of the Health Food Institute
for her dedication, experience and contributions over the years to the
natural health industry.
During 1993, Natural by Nature Oils was responsible
for compiling what became recognized as probably the most comprehensive
and up-to-date source book for aromatherapy of its kind - "A Safety
Guide on the Use of Essential Oils". This was based on information from
world wide research compiled and published by Natural by Nature Oils,
covering 250 natural fragrance materials of essential oils, absolutes,
concretes, gums, resins and balsams. The information includes the
hazards of primary irritation, contact sensitisation, phototoxicity and
oral and dermal toxicity.
The company is a member of several organisations including: The Soil
Association, The Health Food Institute, The Ethical Company - Good
Shopping Guide, The Vegan Society and the BUAV.

leads the way in actively supporting the BUAV's campaign to end all
animal testing for cosmetics, toiletries and household products.

was awarded the first BUAV Golden Bunny Award for the best
