Power boating
There are many absolutely stunning power boats to choose from, some skippered and crewed - some bareboat charter - on the canals and rivers of Europe and around the coasts of many countries. If you are thinking of hiring and handling a boat yourself, on inland waterways, it's advisable to have a short theory lesson followed by some hands on tuition on the boat before going anywhere.
If you are planning to sail your power boat in close coastal waters then you will probably need a couple of days to learn 'the ropes' - but if you intend to cross a sea then there are elements of at least basic navigation that you will also need to know. A lot to learn - but terrific fun, a new skill and a thrilling way to just relax, unwind and spend your holiday. Even better if you hire a skipper, invite a few 'up for it' friends and have your cool teenage kids along to crew for you!
Here are loads of brilliant options to consider. Come on - what are you waiting for - time to push the boat out this year!
